Cyanogen Tweak: Clear a Single Notification in the Status Bar

I haven’t experience Gingerbread yet but I must say the stock Froyo doesn’t support the single clear notification just by swiping it. Your only actions could be either to open a notification or clear them all up. For those Cyanogen ROM’s users, you can clear a single notification just by swiping it sideways to your right.

Gmail Updates on Android Devices

It was Friday that this update got me surprised. Our Gmail apk just got better because of the update release by Google. It is now on 2.3.5 as an improved Gmail performance and tweaks comes in.

Here are the major revamps made:
·         Save bandwidth and battery by only syncing priority mails
·         Use label notifications to mash up filters, labels, and ringtones
·         Remember  “Show Pictures”  for senders
·         Turn off sticky message actions in landscape or all orientations
·         Better TackBack support for accessibility
·         Performance improvements

For those who are always on the 3G connection with data plans, you’ll gonna love this update because by only syncing priority emails you will only use limited data. And you can now put label colors which also add life to the app.

Looking for Offline Dictionaries APK? I have a couple of them.

I love the concept of offline dictionaries, who wouldn't especially if it’s FREE! Offline Dictionaries by Nicolas GUILLAUME and Advance English Dictionary and Thesaurus works like a charm at times you begin scratching your head when confronted by unfamiliar words.

Google’s Android able to gather 46.4% Market share in Smartphone

As the name of my blog suggests, android operating system has been accelerating in garnering its market share that no one has ever expected. According to ABI Research, Google manage to get a whopping 46.4% share. But translating that to units, Google announced that more than 550,000 phones are getting activated EVERY DAY! While the others share among themselves the rest of the pie, namely Nokia, Apple, Windows phone, Black Berry OS, and others.

SetCPU: Setting your CPU

As the name suggests, it sets your CPU either under-clocking or over-clocking it depending on what you want to achieve. This becomes handy for games that require extensive CPU usage or persons who want to prolong their battery life. This is one of the main advantages of rooting your phone.

Battle of the Flagships - Iphone 4, Samsung Galaxy S2, LG Optimus 2x, and HTC Sensation

Apple is just about to release its more powerful Iphone 5 this coming September which is rumored of having an A5 dual core chipset. But considering Samsung Galaxy SII had already sold more than 3 million handsets, the question will be “Is it late for them for that release? And can they really catch up with the Android Devices?”

Facebook’s response to Google+:

What’s this Facebook modifications and revamped mean? Were they really got intimidated and started to get the situation upheld? Actions are to be interpreted at face value per se.

Delving into Google+

Is Google+ really mimicking Facebook? I was lucky enough to get an invite by David Webb through his developed app (Google+ invite) and become a Google plus user and early experience the new way of “Social Network”. At first glance, you could really tell that it’s pretty much Facebook like. It is now available to Philippine Android Market. But nevertheless its usage will not be limited to android users like me, it is currently on its way to the iOS platform subject to Apple’s approval (I wonder if they will be welcoming to their competitor’s vie).

Inside CyanogenMod 7

Here's what a typical scenario when you make an open OS for phone, Cyanogen Community ripped the code of the Android System and start making changes, that is fixing bugs and adding innovative features. Samsung, an Advocate of Cyanogenmod Devs?

According to Wired.com with an interview of CyanogenMod team member Kolja Dummann “After the [Galaxy S II] launched in Europe, we just asked about getting some of those phones. Samsung agreed.” If I would have to interpret Samsung's generosity by giving a free Samsung Galaxy S2 to the group , they are saying "you're welcome to install your ROM into our flagship phone". Come to think of it, this would be very good combination that can match a laptop's performance if not, a netbook at-least.

Flashing Cyanogen Mod to LG Optimus One

This July is the expected month for the release of Gingerbread 2.3 update from Google for the LG Optimus One. One option that you could try instead of taking on the Google's update is the Cyanogen mod 7 which impatient android users has been installing since its release. Basically, it runs on Gingerbread 2.3.4. Though it has some minor bugs, I have been using it and it is still a thumbs up for me since it made my phone snappier.

Custom ROM LG Optimus One

They said like the Apple did, the main weakness of the android OS is of being an open system. Its actually the contrary. Many are opting the android system be it as the user or developer. Like myself I never regret of purchasing my android gadget, flashing it with custom ROM and tweaking it to overclock. Choose your ROM.

Google Plus, is it a Facebook wanna be?

Just how many could Google get to try their social interactive app called Google plus? Who knows? But one thing for sure, android OS lovers will likely support and install it in their android devices. Currently Google plus is in test mode which aims to bring Circles, Sparks, Huddle, Hangouts. Circles is similar to social grouping in Facebook but every relationship differs in some aspect, so to speak, degree of closeness e.g. Family members, best friends, lover/s, etc.
